Could be one of the pressure relief valves, but I think those are usually underneath. Probably just a plug. This guy seems to think it’s a good spot to put a temp sensor.22 pounds pressure at 3k rpm sounds a bit low to me. I believe the rule of thumb is about 10 pounds per thousand RPM.
