I am embarrased  to admit that I just found “The Red Car” book that was circulated last spring. I had signed and dated it in April and remember intending to take it to Carlisle hoping to pass it along. Never Happened. 🙁

The Speedway part looks just like the one I need to replace. The measurements they give are slightly different than what I measure. Angle 52 deg. vs 45 measured, threads to stop shoulder 2 3/8″ vs 2 1/4 measured, hole to end 16 5/16″ vs 16 1/2″ measured and hole to bushing shoulder 12 3/4″ vs 13 measured.

My ’40 Ford has welting between body and fender parts and we had a ’51 Chevy and as I recall it had welting at least on the rear fenders.

Sounds like fun. Count me in for whatever you guys decide to do.

I recently finished my Fiberfab Ford kit. The U frame for the windshield was wider on the bottom, as is yours’ and had no predrilled construction or countersunk holes in the frame. Happy Birthday Sam! You’ve got me beat but only by two months.

My Fiberfab Ford kit was missing the wipers and arms so I bought the “Wiper Arm and Blade Set, Deluxe” from MG Magic. It has the “old school” straight arm with set screw as described by KentT above. I had to shorten both arms and blades about 3/4″ each so the blade wouldn’t hit the top or side of the windshield frame.

And I thought it took a lot of time and effort to build my TD. This guy must have a lot of tallent, time and patience. Obviously a perfectionist as well.
