I just looked at it. I was wrong, it was in the replica section. The radiator part shown is totally wrong.

MAN, I’m going to put a lock on my shell.
I’ll be on the look out. There was an entire kit on ebay, saw it last night, but I don’t remember seeing a shell tho. It was located under the MG TD section, and not the replica section.
If I stumble on one, I’ll let you know.

  • To set the timing was a piece of cake on my 2.3L, did the alignment marks including the drive to the distributor and setting the rotor to the #1. Release the tensioner easily, verify the alignments, turn over the engine, verify the alignments again. Put it all together and pray.
I hit mine perfect the first time. She roared to life and purred…[Read more]

  • Ringo,
How goes it? Have you been able to work on her lately to find the problem?

Mine is the Ford setup, but it is a bit tricky. You press the pedal that pulls on a cable that pulls on a horizontal arm that is connected to a vertical shaft mounted next to the carb, the vertical shaft rotates and swings a lever connected to linkage on the butterflies on the carb. Various springs on that arm return it back to idle most of the…[Read more]

  • I agree Paul. I think you hit the nail on the head with the leveling. It may perhaps use the type for RV’s. Some of the old MG’s used the Jackall system that raised the entire vehicle off the ground for wheel changing. I think that is so cool. If you could raise the car, then lock the jacks, it would be a nice security system too.
    I think we…[Read more]

  • COOL, you found a picture. I had looked at the tires previously to see if they were pressured differently, but appeared the same. Dude in the back must be doing the leveling when the picture was taken.
When I Googled VW pool table, it shows up on many sites. Nice job on the conversion.JasCochran40038.9434027778

  • Usually my cars ONLY break down when it’s either 10 below or 100 plus, and either snowing or raining. I dropped my Scout’s rear driveshaft on the interstate just east of Knoxville at 75 miles an hour in a rain storm. I gathered pieces of U-joints, shaft and mufflers off the interstate in the downpour for half an hour, engaged the front axle and…[Read more]

  • You guys crack me up . Priceless.
I wonder two things, how do they get the table there, and where do you find a perfectly level parking space?

  • Ringo,
Let’s start an engine frustration club, we can’t start the engines, might as well start a club . On my 2.3L, the slightest movement of the timing belt tensioner made the belt jump a notch or two, easily.
My baby is still hanging out waiting for me to put the engine back together. Keep us posted on your findings. Paul, the registry is a…[Read more]

  • Lee,
I have seen your wonderful woodworking. I can’t wait to see your dash. I made an MG logo in mahogany for the center of my dash which is figured sapele.
Ringo, your dash is stunning and the gauges really set it off!

  • Scott and Greg in the celebrity spotlight. Perhaps I can add a news section in the spreadsheet. I’ll run a test to see how to fit it in.

She is still sitting on the jack stands all apart. I have been so busy with my dads estate and trying to get the house on the market. I had no idea the bad condition of the house, I have been out there every evening and weekend for months. I should get the house finished the end of Aug, and then get back on the car. It is terrible hot and humid…[Read more]

  • I am thinking of replacing my shocks with adjustable Koni’s. It helped on my other sports car for bottoming out, but I don’t know if this is a solution to your suspension. We have some members that know a great deal about the suspensions. The Koni shocks maybe just a bandaid fix, but it has helped for better than 25 years so far on my other car…[Read more]

  • An SUV cut right in front of me and could not hear my original horn, so I got some air horns. Mine are very long twin chrome trumpets that I got at a trucker supply. My car sounds like a tractor trailer rig now. It takes about a second or less for the compressor to build up enough to kick the horns. It’s also great for clearing birds from trees,…[Read more]
