Dave If you do get round to it I would be happy to buy a pair at a price I’m sure we could both be happy with. Mike

Hi Bill I think we are in about the same stage of assembly of an unbuilt FF kit. The scribe line thing seemed a huge problem but a recent posting from STG-inc of a very hi quality assembly and some advice here and in Carlisle PA. puts things in a little perspective. Somehow Edsnova noticed the hood sidepanels were long and STG-inc explained the…[Read more]

if you save a search for replica convertibles – best way to limit the field then look at Left side of “for sale” page click completed listing page. scroll for green numbers to get sold items, a lot fall thru anyway, not sure how long they stay a week or 10 days you won’t miss much
just checked last 3 tdr’s did not sell.juneybug2014-09-19 06:58:02 -

It is very nice to see another generation interested in cars that can be repaired without computer connections. Another site that is very useful for Volkswagen issues is thesamba.com. Best wishes and do encourage your best video/photographer to keep a careful record of your progress, who knows you might resurrect the industry.eds nova 2 posts u…[Read more]

fantastic pictures the sequencing may well be in the manuals but seeing clear visuals so useful. I know you’ll post your wiring solution. I’m a long way off but remains a total unknown. And a well lit man cave as well Thanks Mike

member nuts&bolts has FF body parts. I would ask for photos with tape measure overlays to be certain you don’t get more of what you got. and you want to make sure you order all you need as freight from Toronto Canada will be an issue. On the other hand I suspect you can negotiate a good price. good luck

Saw a Chris Vallone video of the same thing – he specified quick roof as no smell option. But my concern is how well will the carpet fit and stick over the fairly thick strips. I’m sure the sound insulation is worth the effort.

if you’re convinced there’s been an engine swap, you might try sanding cleaning the area in front of the access panel you referenced. that is where you’d find it if it hasn’t been ground out. Mine is not a London but it wasn’t visible till I wiped it down.

New master cylinder and brake lines in and functional. bit of a start because I didn’t have the extension rod far enough but good now. ready to bolt in rear splash pan bumper support. the manuals in this site show secondary support either coming up from the engine mount wish bone or down from the VW body bolt holes that are up the shock mounts. So what is the caulking of choice. I have only used great stuff for stationary applications but I can see where it would be squeaky. I’d like to think my TDr will be quiet enough to hear squeaking!

Where the body tub should rest on the pan perimeter there is a gap. You can see light in the footwell. There does seem to be a bit of flex in the tub and I think if I put the jack under the pan I can probably push it up a bit.
