Yep mine are hinged in the front, they tilt forward to access the storage.

Mike I did away with my original seat bases too. The bases I made of wood are now at about 3″ angle toward the back. Neat car, still like my TD. I have the air but the roll up windows would be nice.

Mine is a CMC Ford powered with the spare and luggage rack on the back. It is a real spare and I carry all sort of things on the rack, lawn chairs (bag type, coolers even a suit case if we go over night.   I looked under it and there is not much reinforcing it, just a steel bar about a foot long with the studs for the spare.    

Balmy 28 with flurries here in Ohio, I think my choice will be the Carolina’s if I ever get the chance.

Your probably right, I’m making something relatively easy into a expensive, un-necessary convenience.

I have disconnected my share of drive shafts in the past too. Some are gravy others a real pain. I don’t feel so bad here in southwestern Ohio now, only 5-7 inches on the ground. Can’t even imagine 3 feet.

Roy, I wish that was possible, she’s Ford powered w/auto. Taking the drive shaft is a pain, especially in a parking lot even if it’s not raining.

I hope to make it this year. Work shouldn’t be a factor this time, RETIRED 11/27/13, just the $$ (fixed income now) and a trailer maybe a U-Haul would be the easiest. I’d love to drive her there but don’t think my legs could make it that far.

Wow! she looks great. I may have to break down and buy some too. I’ll have lots of time on my hands, I’ve decided to retire soon.

I wonder why both of them only have a range of 25 to 30 miles.
