Question, how sturdy is the fold down luggage rack? I’ve thought about buyign one for my Duchess. But I’m concerned about bolting it through the fiberglass engine cover. -

I second Mark’s well wishes for anyone who may have been in harm’s way this weekend.
I know. We may be spoiling NJ’s reputation for uncaring, heartless residents. But most of us really are good people! -

Hi Pat,Before you drive yourself crazy looking for them…the Classic Roadsters manual does not have instructions on moving the e-brake handle to an upright position. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I can reach mine easily, with the e-brake in its original position. If you choose to do so, modifying it is pretty straight forward. You cut the bracket…[Read more]

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Hours required in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 5 months ago
I built my Duchess, following the manual step-by-step.
The one thing I did NOT do, was punch a time clock each time I entered my garage. For what it’s worth, the build took me about nine months, working evenings and weekends. Your mileage may (make that WILL) vary.Mark’s words of wisdom ring true for me. It’s one of my hobbies. It could have taken…[Read more] -

Thank you Larry.
Sorry folks. I did nto mean to steal the thread. Just a little jealous of all the “driving my car stories”
Let’s give the thread back to Montie, with prayers for a successful rehab from his surgery! -
Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Surgery in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 5 months ago
You are in my prayers Montie!
The rehab IS critical. It’ll hurt like heck, but will be worth it.
I wish I could say I was driving my Duchess. But her new engine is only partially built. And the car and engine are being held hostage by a very uncooperative future ex-wife. Haven’t been able to get near the car for two months. And I am not sure she…[Read more] -

Classic Roadsters and London Roadsters have that “bump out” that is over the torsion bars. It is molded into the fiberglass and is not removable.I did not realize the Daytona Migi had the bump out too.

But all three cars in the brochure are riding on the stock VW torsion bar front suspension.Interesting how LR guys did business too. They required the dealers to buy two…[Read more]
