Nope. No need to bolt down a 4-poster, Bill. And it comes with handy casters for easy mobility.

Reminder, gentlemen:
So far, only Vicenc has expressed interest.I’m going to open it up to my drag-racing neighbors as well.Weather permitting, we’ll probably roll the lift out onto the driveway and re-level it there, so as to have max headroom. -

I cruised over to the usual Saturday cars & coffee at the Hunt Valley mall. Rolled in behind a stunning cream colored Speedster replica and I swear Bridget got more attention than that car.
Soon as I parked (between an MGB and a 911 turbo), the 911 turbo guy struck up a conversation, wanting to know all about Bridget. “Does it have a race… -

I used rtv when I did mine instead of the gasket. the 2nd gasket goes behind the backing plate. there where no plugs when I took mine apart. I like the Bentley manual the most very thorough.

My 2 cents: Why do you own either? Do you consider either an investment? Is the cost of spares a consideration? …or did you buy to enjoy the open air motoring experience? ….or perhaps you like to tweak and tinker with old cars? ….or maybe all your friends own real T-types? There is little doubt that the BMW is a better (in every regard…[Read more]

Could you keep both for a year while deciding? I’d make the decision based on which one I enjoyed driving more. Getting them both road-worthy would seem the 1st step to a sale anyway, so nothing lost there but time and maybe a scraped knuckle. The BCW is probably a bit roomier. The original is cooler. Both will hold maintenance challenges. If the…[Read more]

Like most of the TDrs, the BCW is, I think, 3 inches longer overall than the TD. I believe the Fusseneggers stretched the hood a little in order to get a better fit of the body over the VW donor: it lets the BCW’s full length grill sit in front of the front axle beam and allows the rear torsion bar to tuck behind the front of the rear fenders. (Of…[Read more]

Not stock. Notice that all the fenders are somewhat rounded where they would have attached to the missing center sections. And the outside door handles are missing. The straps securing the gas tank have been modified also. The owner took some 1950’s customizing liberties that you don’t usually see on a real TD. I’d guess that most folks, if…[Read more]

Hey Carlisle-bound TDr’s,
I was able to borrow a 12 x 12 canopy — just in case it rains or suns on us…Now I just have to figure out how to get it into Emma — hmm — it should fit in the passenger seat well….???You all can report to Wobby that given a choice between my tea-serving-cup-tray-drive-in-diarama or a 12 x 12 canopy, I opted for… -

I think the P-1800-engined TD is kind of the best of both worlds. Authentic steel over ash body and 100 horsepower, but with proper dual-SU carburation.
Of course, I don’t have to maintain it….Sweet ride. Love the wheels. - Load More
