VW don’t leak oil, they just mark their spot, sort of like a male dog.

February 20, 2022 at 7:29 am #307961Thinking of booking hotel. Is there a group deal? Any additional info on activities?
December 31, 2021 at 10:43 am #307891Is someone arranging hotel and activities as per years past?
December 31, 2021 at 10:31 am #307890Also signed up. A little shorter trip this time, move from Chicago. IL to Charlotte, NC.
September 15, 2021 at 9:03 am #307772March 18, 2021 at 9:09 am #307508Will need to pass on Carlisle this year. Haven’t seen the grandkids in NC for over a year. They will both be playing in baseball tournaments the same weekend as Carlisle. Wife and I have gotten both doses if the vaccine and have decided the baseball tournament’s is a event we can’t miss. Looking forward to 2022!

January 5, 2021 at 7:42 pm #307375Assuming I am able to get the vaccine, I’m in.
August 19, 2020 at 7:06 pm #307164I had the same problem. I cut off the turn signal arm and drilled hole and threaded. Took a length of 1/8″ threaded rod and bent to desired shape, covered it with a piece of fuel line and added a knob. A bolt at connection point locks it in place so it won’t turn.

June 26, 2020 at 12:09 pm #307030June 26, 2020 at 12:09 pm #307029How about using a coupling nut?
May 12, 2020 at 9:14 pm #306719I found a body shop that specializes in vintage Corvettes. It has been in shop since middle of January, all done except for grill shell. They had to fabricate a new front apron. The grill shell required removing chrome so it could be repaired and then re-chromed. Process is on hold because plating shop is shut down because of Covid 19.
April 3, 2020 at 10:31 am #306530Just got email that Carlisle has been rescheduled to Aug 14-16.
December 31, 2019 at 9:40 am #306400I had mine made at a local marine upholstery shop. At the time they did both the convertible top and the tonnaeu cover. The cost for both was about $850 about 20 years ago.
November 29, 2019 at 7:25 pm #306364Guess I am committed. Bought my show field pass. Now I just need to get the car fixed after accident. Found a Corvette shop that is willing to fabricate the damaged center front piece behind bumper.

November 17, 2019 at 4:11 pm #306354My question should have been is MG Replica and SOC having activities as in past years?
April 16, 2019 at 1:12 pm #306023My TDR is built on a 1972 VW and needed to meet requirements for same. I live in Illinois in a area subject to emission testing. For years I would have to detune it, take it in to have my tail pipe sniffed, go home and retune for driving. With the advent of computerized controls, they now just connect to the under dash connector to verify everything is working OK. If car is old enough to not have connector, they wave testing because they no longer have equipment to test. Don’t know if that helps.

Thanks for all you work in keeping this even going. I will have to miss this year. My sister and I are walking the Camino de Santiago from Porto, Portugal to Santiago, Spain in May 2019, about 160 miles.
I have flat towed from Chicago several times with no issues. Have towed with tonneau cover on each time and have not experienced any wear due to steering wheel. The one issue I experienced was the cables feeding the tow light were somewhat loose at the rear fender and flapped in the wind repeatedly hitting the fender and scuffing some of the paint. I now make sure the cables are tapped to car body with no slack.

May 13, 2018 at 11:27 pm #304954I will be arriving Thursday afternoon with my wife, Rose Ann. Plan on going to Caddy Shack and all other activities that follow.

April 3, 2018 at 11:02 am #304828I was faced with a similar issue but I didn’t attempt to color match gel coat since I had a fairly significant damage to fender. Painted fender with color match to existing car, fender looked great but there was a significant difference in appearance between painted fender and gel coat car. Eventually wound up painting entire car, epoxy paint with clear coat.
