Just a side note, Have you figured out how to put gas in it without spilling it on the car ?
The side filler is unique to the LR, care must be used to put gas in it. I have to hold the pump nozzle high and deep in the filler hole. don’t rest on bottom of filler hole like a normal car. Then listen for the gas starting to come up the filler tube… -

On your engine cover , does it have the hole’s for the spare tire bracket that is supposed to be on the LR. I have pictures of the spare tire bracket on my gallery pictures.

The only tool I carry is a screwdriver, so I can take the wind wings off. Only way to get the side curtains on if it rains. I never go more than 50 miles away from home. Have a tow bar system on my LR and the same free tow insurance. Guy next door has a car trailer.

Richard Shear replied to the topic Lever next to shifter in the forum VW Based Kits 12 years, 7 months ago
The lever turns the heat on or off, for the 2 heater tube’s under the seat. The LR only has one lever. The defrost for the windsheild is not connected to the heat lever and duct work, only the fan.

It’s got the London Roadster fuel filler cap. No other car has it.
Don’t see the Name plate by the antenna.I would say that it is a London Roadster built on a VW pan. -

The VIN is under the seat. VIN plate is rivited to the tunnel

Richard Shear replied to the topic london roadster for sale in the forum General Discussion 12 years, 7 months ago
As I understand it , the London Roadster can be built on a steel chassis or a VW pan.
It should have 15 inch rims, please check the tire code to make sure the tires are not really old and unsafe. They can look like new but still would be unsafe if too old.the spare tire is carried in the rear , but yours has a tire cover , I do not see the… -

Samba had a video on removing the brake drum. There is a special tool for removing the big nut. It has about 200 lb torque and probably rusted and froze.

Met the King years ago when I was racing NASCAR Modified’s in upstate NY. Richard, Dale SR. and JD Mcduffie were at the track the night before the Watkins Glen race. Sad side note: JD won the race in Owego that night but was killed at Watkins Glen the next day.

I use STA-BIL fuel stabilizer. 8oz bottle . 1oz for 2 1/2 gallon gas if you are storing the car or lawn mower/snow blower or gas can for the season. 1 oz for 5 gallons to treat gas that you are using in your car during the summer. One bottle can treat up to 40 gallons. Only cost a few dollars for 8 oz.

Roy had a real good idea to prove it could be the fuel pump. I would run a gas line from a gas can to the fuel filter. If it is a bad fuel pump , it will not draw gas out of the can. I also hope that everyone treats their gas with an additive. As Ethenol creates water in the gas tank and is also not good for carborators

The roadster has an aluminum tank so it should be easy to clean. I would check the fuel flow from the tank to the filter 1st , as rust should not be a problem in the tank, but still can get dirt or water.
