You’re moved! At least in the registry…two weeks and counting down. -

I’ll update the map today. I hope the move will go perfectly and you’ll be behind the wheel of Mrs Peel with a big grin very soon.
Mel, don’t forget about SNOW! Maybe a snow cone will take care of it for ya.

Awesome Richard,
Post some pics if you can, maybe some videos of the drive to YouTube.
Good luck, have fun, we’ll be in the space right behind your seat hanging on…….in spirit at least.
Follow in Pauls’ shoes, but not too close……his ride is on the rack -

I have a cover like Paul’s. I love the straps though, great idea. They give me the feeling of old world classic British Roadster for some reason. I like the coordination and alignment with the spare tire rack rails you have. Very classy

When my top was shrinking and getting too tight, I lowered the pivot mount where the bows attach. I didn’t have to lower it much to make a tremendous difference. If I remember correctly, a quarter inch lower gave me close to an inch of play to the back snaps. I am not for sure how the physics of that played out, but it worked. After I bought a new…[Read more]

I believe it was in 1965 that I got to actually touch this road machine. It was on tour promoting ‘Thunderball’ and it was at the theater on the base, Fort Rucker. They gave a demonstration to the troops before most them left for Vietnam. Everyone got their fingerprints on that beauty…….groovy!

I hadn’t noticed that before. Great idea
, thanks.
Looks like you have door restraining straps also, to keep the door from banging the rear fender? Are the door panels leather also?

James Cochran replied to the topic First timer 52 MGTD Tail lights issue in the forum VW Based Kits 14 years, 11 months ago
Sounds like some corrosion or wear in your switch or connector to the switch. Check to be sure the connection to the switch itself is clean and tight. Test the system by not wiggling the knob, but the wiring to the switch, that may help narrow the problem down.
Beautiful TD!

Gene,
I poked my camera all around and took all sorts of pictures. Thank goodness my camera is one of those little pocket ones. My autofocus is not the best, but I was able to see stuff I normally could not. I have used a USB webcam connected to a laptop, but without the flash, did not do much good. I would love to get one of those cameras on the…[Read more] -

Gene, that’s the way I read it too. Thanks for the Ford link Ringo. I have not driven my baby for almost 2 years now. Everything is fixed, but not re-assembled. Took a major financial dive
, so everything is on hold. May need a trip to Hot Springs and see your black beauty!

I shouldn’t have erased Greg’s dot so fast.
I hope the new owners registers with us so I can put a dot back.
Mel, hope you got some TD time in.

Gene,
Your engine number is well hidden. It is located on the block, passenger side, toward the front just below the exhaust port. If I remember correctly it is between the number one and two cylinder under the exhaust. It’s a bear to get to. I took my digital camera with flash to find it. Look around in that area. If you need an exact location I…[Read more] -
