What do you have on your engine now? It looks good in the pics, but I can see why you want chrome since you have chrome on the engine. Looks great. Is the only reason to change is for a chrome cover?

Geoff,
This one appears to be metal judging by the mounting tabs where the paint is worn off by the bolts. It’s used, 15 bucks + 10
ebay number 350280060084
Looks exactly like mine.

Nice looking car, interesting English and spelling in the description. I am not for sure he does know what he has. Thanks Larry for the posting. It is a nice car. I wonder where Juan is from.

Dave, my baby is still perched on the jack stands. If photos will help any. My drivetrain is Pinto, the frame is not Ford, but was made for the body as best as I can tell. I can send you pictures if you like. It is snowing today, but should hit 40 on Monday….heat wave! Get out da shorts.

Right now my car is buried in the driveway under a frozen snow covered cover. As soon as it melts on Monday I will be happy to measure anything you need. I will get the above dimensions and any others you need, just let me know.

Geoff, I’ll mentally ride along with you, my wee brain isn’t frozen, but I’m not for sure..
Enjoy the ride, grrrrrrrr -

James Cochran replied to the topic Trim Around Dash in the forum General Discussion 15 years, 3 months ago
I used two 1/4″ wide with 1/4″ between along the top of my dash (see my photos), but now I have reworked my dash I am thinking of one that is 3/4″ wide. I need to verify that it can take the dip in the center of the dash top, it may not bend very well. I don’t bend so well anymore

Ed,
Check out my photos. That is what I have on my dash and everywhere, works great! Couldn’t get the Whitney link to work, it might have sawdust from the living room floor or snow mixed in it.
I also used the same trim on the fake gas tank bands, the centerline of the hood….oops, bonnet, and to edge the carpet and along the top of the seat…[Read more] -

You da man! Thanks for the info, glad to know the scoop. I see many trailers around here for sale like the one you posted. If I get one, I will probably weld some steel supports where the wheels stay. I like the steel mesh, not much to clean and easy on the wind and weight and catch parts that fall off the car

Richard,
I was thinking the car is in the 12 foot range, so a 14 footer should work. I haven’t found one that short that is a ‘car hauler’. The car is so light that perhaps a cargo trailer would work with a stiffer ramp. Originally I was looking at a flat bed, but then the enclosed trailers popped into my head and then I saw it as a portable…[Read more] -

Scott,
Would you believe I had looked at a similar thing to do with a cargo truck, like one of the longer FedEx city trucks. Then I figured the neighbors would freak out having that in the driveway. The trailer could tuck away behind the garage. I live in a designated historic district, and they are so picky about everything from house color to…[Read more] -

Dan,
The Jeep has about a 4-6″ lift. The tires rub when I turn they are so large. The kid I bought it from really tricked it out with the safari racks and brush guards. It looks great, but you have to climb to get inside. The Jeep is not a good tow vehicle at all. I used to have a collection of Scouts. I know what you mean about rust. That thing…[Read more] - Load More
