Hi Mindseyeblind…..
This sounds like content Frankie should put on the TD History – Replica page.
There is an entry for Daytona Migi, but no content.
Frank is very involved in the VW world, but sadly no longer has his TD replica. He created this web site and forum and is still the administrator. He stops by regularly. If we are patient, I am…[Read more] -

Hi W Lee,I put convex mirrors on both fenders. Moss Motors has them. JC Whitney usually has them too.Once they are adjusted and you get used to them, you have a pretty good view to each side. And a quick tip to actually getting replies to your questions…Keep each thread on topic. If you have a new question, create a new thread with the…[Read more]

I’m catching up on mail and various forums, having been completely off the matrix for a week. I’m reading through the above and am not sure if we’re still talking about a car or a “significant other”.One thing is clear…Mel sure does “luv” “her”!

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic wind wings in the forum General Discussion 16 years, 3 months ago
Mark is correct. Most of the wind is coming from behind. The windshield creates a vacuum and the air rushes over the top of the glass, and makes a u-turn into the back of your head.I find the wings smooth some air going down the sides. But Dan R is on target…the wind is part of the fun. If you need to stay covered (like I do!) do what the…[Read more]

Mel,The car looks awesome! The center zip is normal for a tonneau cover, so if only the driver is in the car, you can keep the passenger side covered (and dry if the weather turns bad)

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Year of doner car? in the forum VW Based Kits 16 years, 3 months ago
The number stamped into the pan is the VIN for the donor car. Once you find the VIN on your chassis, here is a VW Type 1 VIN Decoder table:

I have a set of five in decent shape. They are locking style. You bolt a bracket to the wheel, put the locking cover on, then the basket. The center hub screws into the bracket.
I am traveling. I will send you photos when I return home.PMOSSBERG40006.4750231481 -

Yup, There you go. A Daytona. The grill and rear engine cover help confirm that.
I’m curious about the “copyright” plate above the serial number.
It looks like one of those Dymo (?) labels. You know, the ones that press invividual letters into an adhesive backed strip. After it was put on it was painted over. I have never seen a copyright tag on…[Read more] -

Obvious, but check the oil level too.
It is not unsual for oil pressure to drop below 20 pounds at idle when an engine is hot. Do you have a pressure gauge? Or just a warning light?
What viscosity are you using?

Hi myth
Never heard of anything with a similar name. Post some larger shots, including several angles of the car. And I’m sure we’ll be ableto figure out what she is.
And while you’re at it, post the details requested in the Car Registry thread and I’ll add you to the registry list.
