Not a cheap alternative but I have my Miata stored in the winter in a bubble as I have run out of garage space. My wife isn’t willing to give up her side of the garage 🙂

Montie very well done about 3 dollors in material cost and probably about 300 dollors of labor but you had fun and have something you should be very proud to own.

Montie I’m interested in your T shifter handle replacement project. Some of those after market replacements can be expensive but would be a very nice change to our Ford based cars.

Keep in mind that if you’re using a brake master cylinder off a car that had previously had power brakes the master cylinder may not be appropiate. Master cylinders come in various bore sizes for different applications. Factors like weight of car, brake lever mechanical advantage and whether power brakes are incorporated are all factors.

I would suggest brake fluid replacement and re-bleeding the brakes. Get that old fluid out of there and the air and see what you think about the brakes. Then re-evaluate, fluid replacement is cheap.
In a ford based car there isn’t room for a power booster. The donor car may or may not have had power brakes (1974?)
There is a brake pedal mod to…[Read more] -

Dan,
When you turn off the Ignition key does it kill the power to the module?
Constant power to the module could be your issue. -

Mine are attached to the glass with fender washers but in my case they are in like new condition (never been used). The car is in NH which is the “live free or die” state. I’m not saying you shouldn’t use yours in the MG, it’s just that I don’t. In my other cars I always use them, the MG is the exception to the rule 🙂

You may not be aware that your speedo maybe in Kilometers but the inside dial is in MPH. Thru me for a curve until I took a closer look.

What would be interesting is putting a Ford drivetrain in an original to resolve any dependability issues. If you didn’t open the hood (bonnet) who would know 🙂

Nobody should knock these cars. I have both a cobra and the MGTD they both get looks. I like them both equally dispite the large performance difference. The cobra can handle the highway speeds the MG is more of a back roads kind of car they both have their place.
My wife clearly likes the mg over the cobra, she doesn’t need the performance asp…[Read more] -

What brand is it, it looks like my fiberfab until I get to the windshield side supports.
Looks like a well cared for car from the pictures and it maybe a little high in the front which could be a reason for the ride at 65 mph.RobBaker40771.5644791667 -
