I use drums on all 4 corners stainless steel hoses & larger diameter rear wheel cylinders on paper this will work well. our cars are so light I feel that disks are a waste of money just my 2 cents

I am adjusting my steering column length so my knuckles just clear the dash. also I will use the seat back adjuster from MGmagic. not to rub it in but I lost some weight and that made a lot of room, limit fast food to once a week lol

I made the remark about adding bracing to discourage you from removing any. I’m not sure there is room to add any and not run into fitment issues with the body panels. There is a thread here on secondary door latches that a lot of us have added to keep the doors in place.

I resemble that remark.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and posit that fiberglass body panels are not a significant structural element on any of our cars.
The TDs had adjustable struts to reinforce the area behind the three-hinged bonnet. And, as far as fitment goes: I doubt the Fiberfabs are much worse than the originals, which TD restorers are always complaining… -
billnparts replied to the topic Original hood in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 9 years, 8 months ago
“the fiberfab chassis I am working with is grossly over built, I have even considered chopping it up and lightening many of the tubes. Don’t think it is an issue.”That grossly overbuilt frame will still flex. Several people here on the forum have witnessed the self opening doors on mine. If anything, add bracing.billnparts2016-01-29 06:58:20

Measure twice, then measure again. Then begin.
You can find original TD hood parts, but they’re a bit spendy. And like Paul says, you will almost certainly have to modify them substantially. The way to go, then, imho, is to use the top piece of hood from your kit, and buy a couple of pieces of flat aluminum (find a truck trailer scrapper) to make… -

I like that idea. Please post photos.
I have some very old TD original dash trim on mine. I like the worn out brass look but I’m sure it’s not everyone’s favorite beverage. For the top piece I used the thinnest stick-on chrome moulding from one of the usual supply houses. Very nice flexible stuff, looks the part and sticks great, but lacks that… -

Don’t know if this is the stuff that you are talking about but Cowles Products Company, New Haven, Ct makes and sells something called “Custom Chrome” which is flexible and comes with a peel off 3M adhesive back. Good stuff. Seems to age well. The 1/8″ stuff will bend around a 1″ radius nicely. Bright chrome look, even though it is plastic.

…I sure hope that was a Freudian slip — I said I had my ‘snowfield’ reservation at Carlisle — I sure hope that ‘show field’ is what I wound up with, not ‘snowfield’….in May…in PA???……….

I’m in! But, I gotta tell you – with this aging body, it’s getting a trifle harder each year.

If that’s running two single contact bulbs, change the pigtail in the socket behind “Stop” to a dual contact.

Hub cap with medallion is $35 at Moss. Maybe buy one and see what you need to do on the spare wheel.
The originals fit on three spear-tip “pips” that were affixed to the wheels. A careful person could make something close with 3 sheet metal screws. She really does look fine as is though. New tires are the ticket. You will love how much better s… -

Yes, my seat bases were replaces with a couple pieces of angle iron. The corner of the shelf has extra padding behind the carpet. It’s right in the lumbar region of your lower back and I don’t find it uncomfortable at all. Just like blondes and brunettes, everyone has a different preference.

I can see that your rear fenders are molded to take the correct, early TD tail lights, but something bigger is bolted over them.
The headlight brackets look right too, though the wiring is non-standard. The wire “should” travel through the hollow bracket to the fenders, then through to the inside.Wire wheel hub adaptors are standard TR2-3-4, on 4… -

So I guess it makes sense to just have a car for every season — AWD for winter, a pick up for those mandatory spring trips to That “blue” or that “orange” Big Box Home Improvement store, and a very fine Tdr for the rest of the year…!!!
