Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Club Grill Badges in the forum General Discussion 16 years, 1 month ago
Bill,
Thanks for doing this!
Bill really went out of his way for us on this. He coordinated the design, then ordered the badges in July 2005. He fronted the money out of his own pocket.
It took four years to sell out.
Bill, we should occasionally bump the “badge” post to the “active topics” list and see if it generates interest. But I agree with…[Read more] -

I got the info from my Mopar e-list. That’s interesting James. Your wife’s accident does sound like a real world event caused by the issue oeqf reported on.My Volvo dealer has also recommended against turning brake rotors. I always figured they were just trying to sell more new rotors. Maybe they knew more than they were saying. My worst “brake…[Read more]

Hi Larry,Right near the top of there is the blue banner containing the ad title, then the bold faced “Bidding has ended….”; then “Sell an item like this….” and then centered in the page, but easy to miss, the notation that the seller ended early.Once you have bids on an item, Ebay makes it a bit difficult to cancel the auction. This is…[Read more]

The closed auction says “The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.”

That is how the leading edge of my roof attaches. There is a sleeve sewn in, an aluminum strip slides in, and the entire thing wraps around the top of the windshield frame and fits in the frame slot. The same approach to the curtains will prevent you from leaving the wind wings on.I would bet the sleeve is sewn between the inner and outer layer of…[Read more]

Hawk,
My Duchess attachment points for the curtains are the same as those on James’ CMC/Fiberfab. -
Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Convertible top installatin in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 16 years, 1 month ago
Hawk,
Your description sounds different than any other replica MG TD I have seen. Do your curtains have some sort of metal bracket on the leading edge that would slip into the windshield frame groove? I have never seen a set up like that. If they do, perhaps it can be removed and you can install female snaps on the curtains and male snaps on…[Read more] -
Paul Mossberg replied to the topic VW Pan Modification in the forum VW Based Kits 16 years, 1 month ago
Scott,
That’s going to look so much more authentic when the car is done. I painted those “wings” matte black, so they sort of disappear. But that’s a far cry from your solution. Nicely done! -

Hi Larry,
Thanks. You are correct. I didn’t know they switched to round lights in ’53. -

Nice looking car. I agree Dan. It does look like they used a lot of original style bits and pieces. Swap the taillights for original style and convert it to a single exhaust and it would be very difficult to tell from an original. Except of course that it would be running down the street under its own power. 🙂

Hi Rich,Sounds like you are really enjoying the ride! You need to put the Carlisle Import/Kit Car Show on your Calendar. May 21-23, 2010. Judging by the miles you’ve been putting on, this drive would be nothing.

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic What kind of shocks can I use? in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 16 years, 1 month ago
Good luck Clark.Keep asking questions. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here. And use the search tool. Lots of times you’ll find your answers without even posting a question. What are you building? VW based? Chevette? Ford? What manufacturer? You mentioned “Classic Car Kit”, but I that is not a “name” that I recognize.

some advice from pinkmg:
Check out http://www.rockauto.com Search for Monroe p/n 31538 and click on More Info. It gives the specs of the shock. I order from Rock Auto all the time. They are reputable and quick.
Or…”bottom line” JC Whitney shocks are as good as any for our application.
Mark also recommended against gas filled shocks. For these light…[Read more] -

Hey Dan, I agree. All I meant by my British/British comment is what you wrote, “…the art work and design are British.”The picture is of two British designs,
regardless of what is underneath. Heck, I have German engineering under
my TD’s skin. But that doesn’t make the design German.I agree with you that American Ford V8s “made” the Cobra…[Read more] - Load More
