Jsut want ot make sure we have the scenario correct, with foot off the gas, you push the clutch in and put it in gear. Without doing anything else, the engine idle drops. Right?

Hi Geoff
Giving credit where it is due, all that good advice came from pinkmg, aka Mark.
But since you asked, there should be a hose between the air cleaner and the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve normally on the top of the valve cover. That’s the PCV hose.

If anyone has to ship a car…the truckers really do take good care of them, even on an open car carrier.
