From expeirence it has to be what is refered to as front glass. I believe that means its laminated and has a DOT # that identifies its manufactorer. I also think it has to be a minimum of 1/4 thick
 

I’m hearing what you all are putting down, I’ve had similar problems with locking under hard braking and I’m told its something about wieght and that being the wieghted side. I’m definitly changing my lines, I’ve already rebuilt brakes. but I really don’t use the brakes for much more than stopping anyways.

If this is anything like a boat top a few hot days outside, 2 sawhouses, some bunges, weights and 3 brown bottles, the top willl strech right out. I’ve even been known to use Mrs Wobby’s blow drier to make the final pulls, than let it sit in the sun. Don’t give up on top. you’ll need it.

I go to the local boat shop. They have helped out with a lot of parts.

Just to add more thoughts. I’ve shown this pic to the boys at my race shop. No I don’t race but three of us started a race shop a few years back and we supply several local racers with help. They think its do-able.
 

I’ve got the brochure and have watched about 3 of these go for sale in the last 8 months. Las Vegas, Charlotte and one other. All seemed 2 rich for my blood. Speedies are too much as well. But I’ve started looking at another MG. But I have this picture in my head of a moss pick up????
