LeeWind wings do work. I think maybe Rich made some custom ones but I can’t seem to find that post here in the forum right now. I know they are available through Moss Motors. They attach to the windshield frame and appear to be pretty universal from replica brand to brand.Ringo

It’s so sad when our dads die; it seems we are one less person inside.
My thoughts are with you.

purplemythGOOD LORD!!! Now that’s a project! Reminds me of when I started my ’53 F100. Holes in the floor? Ha! What floor! Is that wiring or some science experiment gone wrong? Afraid to remove too much rust in case its what ‘s holding it together? Now that’s fun! (like I’ve said elsewhere on this forum, I am a twisted individua…[Read more]

Purplemyth;Welcome to the group, as far as car nuts go, if you shook this forum hard you’d get a whole tree full of nuts coming down.I got pretty lucky with my Duchess but other cars in the past have often left me wondering what the hell the previous owner was thinking. At least parts are available, so have fun and post more pics.Ringo

Steve Crites replied to the topic paint source & color in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 16 years, 10 months ago
I pretty much suspect that even if you found the 25 year old color codes, they would no longer match due to fading.
You could probably just repair the ‘glass damage and a good auto paint shop could color match the current shade to a closer color than the original codes. -

Mark and Gang;
What you describe on your ’85 ‘stang is pretty much what I have on my Duchess. Ford engine and tranny, but theres a torque tube from the tranny to the rear end, 2 lower control arms, panhard bar and coils. The interesting thing is, it’s a stock chevette rear! And it most certainly works great in a Ford powered car. No bounc…[Read more] -

Peril;
First, if there’s a cable from the tranny to the sending unit, pull that and see if it’s broken. If no cable, start at the wiring and work back to the tranny to check the sending unit.
Check the wiring from the sending unit up to the speedo with a continuty tester. Double check the ground(s)! If OK, pull the sending unit. Take a pen…[Read more] -

Is it a mechanical or elctric speedo?
Oh, and welcome to the gang!

Geoff;It has set a record for rainfall here this May
Luckily, we had some real nice weather in March and April and I put over 300 miles on the Duchess. She is running better than ever, in fact, I had to check my speed with a GPS since she seemed to getting up to speed too quick. The linkage on the Weber progressive has been getting more of a work…[Read more] -

Geoff;
It’s great to hear that you’re giving Stella some good long runs.
So many problems seem to stem from bad grounds, esp on cars like ours, and ones that are getting driven for the first time in a long time. I’d check the ground on the sending unit first. Are other gauges OK?
Fuel gauges don’t go bad as often as the sending units. I’d st…[Read more] -
Steve Crites replied to the topic Sound Systems in the forum VW Based Kits 16 years, 10 months ago
Hello Rich;
I’ve never owned a car that wasn’t more fun to drive when it had a good sound system. I knew that a roadster would lose sound at speed but I still wanted good sound when cruising back roads. An expensive system would be a waste and there is the issue of room.
My solution was pretty easy since I have the storage hatch in back, but I s…[Read more] -

Hey Gang.I remember reading on a british car site that these were sometimes called kidney shields. I suppose since they redirected some of the air going into the area above the door? Ringo
