The Pimm’s Cup is less like a Long Island Iced Tea and more like a wine cooler, kick-wise. Think Al Stewart instead of Hank, Jr.; Wimbledon instead of the Daytona 500 infield. Not likely to cause anyone to become disorderly or intoxicated. Roger that “no glass” rule, shouldn’t be a problem.

Wobby RULES!Am I to understand that the enjoyment of adult beverages is allowed on the fair grounds? ‘Cause if so (maybe even if not), I have a cocktail Karen and I would like to share. Veddy British. Not too powerful. Would maybe need ice to make it go.

Mine’s in the dash. Thinking I’ll redo the dash someday and put it behind a glovebox door. The antenna is pretty neat–it runs along the inside of the hood, driver’s side, just below the hinge. Invisible and works great. mine’s a VW, but suppression spark plug wires should make the style work for front engine cars too.

edward ericson replied to the topic Colors of welting in the forum General Discussion 15 years, 11 months ago
Usually black. Mine got painted body color when the P.O. painted red (over the original green). looks good. Some TD owners paint theres too–use a flex agent with the paint, remove the welting from the car (or do it, in your case, before assembly).
Lots of welt colors available. I got some chrome style stuff for my dash; JC Whitney I think has an…[Read more] -

Early Fprd Mustangs had a screw on end at the speedo. You will find the ’67 model with manual trans has the longest length and will accomodate the speedo gear required.

Richard,
What do the dual carbs say on the side? Looks like a small set.
I do have a newly rebuilt 31pict carb ( looks like new ) w/ a spacer that
allows it to be used on a dual port or remove for a single port.

Lot’s of Fiberfab owners here might know about that. My mirrors are some kind of clamp-on dealies & are actually clamped to a piece of aluminum plate that the P.O. wedged between the windhield frame and the pivot on the lower frame. I’m thinking about taking that out & replacing them with motorcycle mirrors that bolt through the fold-down slot.
I…[Read more] -

Richard – I might be interested in the carbs myself and might have some stuff to trade etc. – what do you need? Did they have all the stuff w/ them like riser tubes and linkage etc.?
Looking forward to meeting you and Ed in a couple of weeks.

SoCal
look under “columns and steering components”
Beware, though. If they say they have a 15.5-inch wheel it just might be a lie. The wheel is a full 17 inches in diameter (like the original Brooklands), and that makes for a tight squeeze into the driver’s seat.
I plan to raise my column up an inch or so when I re-do the dash. -

Nice! How’s she sounding? If I were in your shoes, I don’t think I’d be able to resist taking a little spin before sending the driveshaft back.

Dionna:here is a link to a guide for determining the year of a VW bug chassis and engine. Kind of a good thing you need carpet because the chassis number is under it–on the tunnel under the seat, or between the seats. The engine number is in an easy to see place on the generator support flange. The generator is that thing on the upper right with…[Read more]
